Hendrix is a well known surname; quiet a few famous people share this name, for example Jimi Hendrix.
Born on November 27th, 1942, Jimi Hendrix was a popular American guitarist, songwriter, and singer. Hendrix is said to be the most prominent electric guitarist in rock music history. He attained global recognition in the year 1967, by playing at the Monterey Pop Festival. A self-taught musician, the left handed Hendrix often played a right-handed Fender Stratocaster guitar. After finishing his military service, Hendrix and his army friend Billy Cox moved to Clarksville, Tennessee, and started a band, which was known as The King Kasuals.
Hendrix first solo was known as 'Hey Joe", inspired from the folk singer Tim Rose's slower version of the song. He achieved success after releasing tracks like "Purple Haze" and "The Wind Cries Mary".
