First of all.....did you sleep through all of your elementary school arithmetic classes??
1/5 is *MORE* than 1/8!! 1/5 is 20% and 1/8 is 12 1/2%. Any 5th grader should be able to tell you that. So if your measuring cups go up to 1/5, then one of the smaller cups should say 1/8.
Another answer to your question is to tell you not to bother with trying to convert one measure to another. Just get a measuring device that is graduated in the measures you are looking for. And why are you using measuring cups in the first place? Your eyes can tell you how much of something to add better than a measuring cup. This doesn't always apply, I know...especially in baking. Baking requires exact measurements. That's one of the reasons I don't bake. I like to "eyeball" measurements, and the "eyeball" method doesn't always work in baking.
Another answer is that a cup is 16 fluid ounces, which is also called a pint. Since you have limited arithmetic skills, I will have to tell you that 1/8 of 16 is 2. So 2 fluid ounces is 1/8 of a cup.
I hope this helped you.

Oops! One cup is 8 fluid ounces, or 1/2 pint. Even I get confused by that sometimes. So 1/8 cup would be 1 fluid ounce, or about a shot-glass full.
Sorry about the mix-up.
