Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There is always the a possibility that someone will hack into a website or steal a password. The majority of the time, you usually create a password yourself when you register with a particular site on the internet. Some sites actually provide you with a password.

Some sites do provide support in case of password theft. The search engine Yahoo! provides text seals and sign in colour seals for users to create so that it is displayed whenever they visit the site in order for them to be reassured that it is a genuine Yahoo! site and not a phishing site.

The popular social networking site Myspace informs users of what they should do if they discover that someone has stolen their identity or if someone has hacked into their profile and made changes without them knowing. The site also answers various other security questions in their FAQ.
