Are you asking about verbal fighting or knock down physical fighting ! Verbal fighting is usually all
about "one up man ship" gotta have the last word. Physical fighting comes from not being able to
handle a situation rationally.

Don't fight, resolve it quickly. If the fighting continues it will get worse and not worth it.

Even if you're the "bigger man" and walk away, sometimes you feel regret. I don't like violence, it is as pointless as you insinuated. Sometimes I have met people who really just needed a good beat down though LOL I try to just remember that quote from Gandhi "An eye for an eye will leave the world blind" It says so much and is always relevant to any battle

It's emotion, raw emotion. People get angry, and say or do things in the heat of the moment. Getting physical is another story. That really doesn't get you anywhere at all but sore. Some people don't handle their emotions well at all, some of their habits are learned, so they don't really know any better. It still comes back to the human emotions. Hope this helps you out.
