What Are The Threats To A Lizard And How To Do They Protect Themselves?
Answers
Lizards have many threats or enemies which they either hide from or try to escape or even fight back in order to protect themselves. Otherwise they end up becoming the feed of other birds and animals and are usually eaten by carnivore mammals such as birds, snakes and even by the larger lizards.
Human beings can also be a threat to lizards especially in countries where people steal their eggs and also eat lizards as food. Lizards are also used for their skin to make a lot of accessory items such as bags, shoes etc because of their unique scaly skin.
However they have certain features by which they can escape and save themselves. For example lizards can easily separate their tails from their body which gives them a chance to run away. Some even swell up when they feel danger while others start doing a series of pushups in order to make their enemy run away.
The Chameleon lizard has a unique ability to change their skin color according to the environment by which they get camouflaged and their enemies can not locate them.
Some lizards such as the Gila Monster and the bearded lizards have use their venom to protect themselves which can be very poisonous.
