Is It Best For My Child To Be A Lawyer Or A Doctor?

When considering what it's best for your children to do in the future, I advise one thing and one thing only, spend lots of time with them during their formative years and let them choose what they do with their lives later!  Lawyer, doctor, refuse collector, artist whatever they want to do, they need to feel that you will support them in any choice that they make.

I understand that you wish them to go into a profession, but they will not thank you if they feel pushed away from their calling towards something that you want them to be or do.  I know only too many people who were told they were not allowed to do what they wanted to do at university, or they went into something because they were convinced its what their folks wanted, that's not good, it's not about pleasing anyone, it's about finding ones place in the world.
