    Methadone is basically a synthetic opioid, which is used very much as an analgesic. It is used as a treatment for narcotic addiction. This opioid was developed in Germany in the year 1937. And in the later years USA was considered as the first to market this product with the help of a Pharmaceutical company named Eli Lilly and Company.

    It consists of a very slow metabolism and at the same time high lipid solubility. It is considered to have half life of nearly 15 to 60 hours and sometimes up to 190 hours. It is usually given with the help of an oral injection. Methadone generally reasons to slow or low breathing and hazardous changes in heart beat that may not have any kind of feelings on the patient.
