How Long Does Small Amount Of Xanax Stay In Your System?

The general rule for benzos is three weeks.  It may be shorter depending on dose and duration of taking the drug.  If you took a one time low dose of Xanax it will probably be less than that, more like 4-7 days, but that depends a lot on your body.  I have tested positive for Xanax after taking two 1 mg tablets 12 days later.  When I was prescribed Klonopin at .5mg x3  a day it stayed in my system for just over three weeks.  My doctor couldn't start me on another medication until my urine was clear for all benzos.  Just an FYI that is why benzo withdraw is one of the worst.  The half-life is so long that you stay in serious withdraw for up to a month, depending of course on how much you were taking.  Hope that helps.
