    Jeffrey Archer was a politician and a writer. He was born on April 15, 1940 in Weston-super-Mare, England.

    He was a politician. At the young age of 29 years old, he became the very first member of the House of Commons. However, his political career was short lived because he was involved in a financial scandal. He resigned his post as House of Commons in 1974.

    After resigning his career as a politician, Jeffrey Archer started writing for a living. He quickly became a well-established author. His first book was published and released in 1976 and was title, 'Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less'. This novel was actually about the financial scandal he was involved in earlier in his political career. This book became a best selling novel.

    In 1985, he decided to return to politics. He was the Tory Party Chairman under Margaret Thatcher. Like his past political post, he also resigned this one after accusations of wrong doing. He later sued the newspapers for libel and won the biggest settlement in British history.
