Who Made Up The Audience In The Theatre During Shakespeare's Time?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Shakespeare's time was known as Elizabethan times and during those days play going had come to be enormously popular. All kinds of people visited the theatre. The globe that was the most sought after theatre due to Shakespeare had a capacity to hold two thousand but it was sold out if the show was popular. Common people came much in advance to catch front row seats. Then as now better seats were available for a price. A gallery seat naturally was dearer then an ordinary one and had the advantage of offering comfort and protection from weather. There were even prized seats known as a lord's room that was in effect a private box near the back of the stage, very close to the actors and the show.
