If I Don't Know The Radius But Do Know The Circumfence How Do I Figure Volume?

Answer Question

    The circumference is
    c = 2*Pi*r

    So r = c/(2*Pi)

    The volume of a sphere is
    v =(4/3)Pi*r3 = (4/3)Pi*(c/(2*Pi))3 = (4/(3*23))(Pi/Pi3)c3
      = c3/(6*Pi2) ≈ c3/59.217624, where c is the circumference

    If you're interested in a cylinder or some other shape, this formula will do you no good.

      Circles are special.  The ratio of the diameter to the circumference is the same for all circles.  The ratio is a special number called pi and is approximately 3.14.

      Use pi to calculate the radius.

      Use the formula for the volume of a sphere, V = 4 X pi X r3 ÷ 3
