Who Wrote The *M*A*S*H Series?

               The *M*A*S*H series is a novel which consists of series of books. *M*A*S*H was appreciated widely. It became so successful that it was made into movie and TV series. The first book of *M*A*S*H was a story of three army doctors. It was written by a former surgeon from military. His name was Richard Hooker. The book was published in the year 1968. This interesting book is about the tale of U.S. army surgical hospital which took place in Korea, when the Korean War was still on. *M*A*S*H Goes to Maine was published in 1972.

               After *M*A*S*H series had achieved success, novels beginning from *M*A*S*H Goes to Paris (published in the year 1974) were credited to Hooker and W. E. Butterworth. Later it was found that all the novels in the *M*A*S*H series were ghostwritten by Butterworth. *M*A*S*H Goes to Montreal (1977) was the last book to be published by Butterworth in the *M*A*S*H series. A final book was also published under the name of Hooker in the year 1977 named *M*A*S*H Mania which had continuation from the Hooker's book *M*A*S*H Goes to Maine (1972).
