Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The first One Day International cricket was played on 5th of January, 1971. It was played between England and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The match was won by Australia by 5 wickets.

A One Day International cricket match is a match that is played between two teams for 50 overs.  Unlike the test cricket which goes on for days, the ODI ends in one day. With a limited over count, both the teams have to chase the target within the 50 over limit.

ODIs are much more fun to watch as they are fast paced and have more energy to them.
Most of the teams that participate in the world cup have a certified ODI team status.

The cricket team of Oman will play its first ODI match in the 2007 Asia Cup.
