When Was Queens Park Rangers Football Club Founded?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Queens Park Rangers Football Club was founded in 1882 by a group of players from two different teams. Many players from St Jude's and players from Christchurch Rangers lived in the area of Queens Park in North-West London and so the name of Queens Park Rangers was decided upon. This is often shortened to QPR. Their nickname is 'the Hoops' or 'the R's'.

The club played at a record of 14 different home-grounds before settling at Loftus Road in 1917 where they remain today. It has a capacity for just over 19,000 people.

Queens Park Rangers has been champions of the lower division on several occasions, but more notably won the League Cup in 1967. They were also finalists for the FA cup in 1982.

Queens Park Rangers currently reside in the Championship division where they finished in a disappointing 21st place in the table for the 2005/06 season.
