Well a petrol engine is better than diesel engine because...spilled out petrolium products from petrol engine are less harmful to the environment than a diesel engine.

Well it defends on what application you are going to use it. If mass transportation, hauling and contraction equipment diesel is the best choice but if we talk about use in our every use, like personal car, petrol is the best choice. Less vibration smooth and quite engine it's more comfortable. Durability wise and efficiency diesel is the winner.
