How Do You Train A Rat?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

You can train your rat to ride on your shoulder, understand when you say no to something, and come to you when you call the rat by its name or even to use a littler box. But, you can only train your rat to do all this after you have built a long and trusting relationship with the rat. Ideally, you should start the training with teaching the rat its name. When you see your rat, hold it up and say its name again and again and give the rat a treat every time it comes to after you call out its name.

You can teach your rat how to walk on a strap up and leash. It is difficult and you need to be very determined to train your rat to do so. Littler train, though, is the hardest thing to teach your rat. You can use the bottom of a Kleenex box for the litter box or simply use a plastic bag. Put some bedding in the bottom of the litter box and place all the excreta inside it. After a few days, your rat will get used to the smell inside the bix and will know this is where he is supposed to go
