What Causes Cancer?

Answer Question

We all now accept that smoking causes lung cancer. We also know that many smokers, even heavy smokers never go on to develop lung cancer although many suffer from other serious smoking related disease. Similarly the link between exposure to the sun and skin cancer is well-established but not all dedicate sun worshippers develop skin cancer. On the other hand some people who have been careful to cover up in the sun and experienced moderate exposure to the sun develop skin cancers. It is now accepted that there is never one single cause of cancer. Our genetic make-up, our general health and other factors such as our diet will render us more or less vulnerable to developing certain cancers. Exposure to environmental or dietary cancer triggers or cancer causing agents is only part of the story.
