What Is The Purpose Of Gothic Art?

    Gothic art is a style in European art and started from 1140 and lasted until the beginning of Renaissance. The main mediums that were used in this style of art are Sculpture, Stained glass, Fresco, Panel painting and illuminated manuscripts. This art is basically religious and was widely used in churches as well.

    Purpose:
    Gothic art basically represents a change whether it’s a change in time, society or perspectives of the people. These perspectives can be spiritual or visual. This art was used before Renaissance and the basic purpose of using it was the change that was taking place in the society and economy because of the changes in people’s perspectives and the way they viewed themselves. So the artists started molding their changing perspectives into different mediums of the Gothic art.
