      Chess game is played on a square chequered chessboard with 64 squares arranged in an 8 by 8 square.it is played between 2 players.

      Chess originated in Subcontinent (India) in 6th century it was known as chaturanga which means 'four division of army or military'.cavalry,elephants,chariots,infantry, and in chess they are known as knight,bishop,rook and pawn.

      In Persia around 7th century the name became (sharanj) and many rules developed.Shatranj was taken up by Muslims world.
