Can Dog Live Through Parvo And How?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

It is possible for a dog to live through parvo but it needs a lot of supportive care , warmth, and fluids. Since parvo lasts about a week, the vomiting and diarrhea can cause dehydration. Your dog should be taken to the vet where they can provide care such as IV fluids and intestinal antibiotics to help the virus run it's course. It's a very serious virus and any other dogs that aren't vaccinated in the household can get it as well.

They can. The sooner treatment from a veterinarian is sought the better their chances (and some have more experience than other's). If it's caught within the first couple of days the medication Tamiflu can be added to the treatment's prescribed and it can help a lot. Nothing is a guarantee, but more pup's survive the illness than thought provided the right steps are taken soon enough. I hope your pup is feeling better soon.
