Both of the above users fail. Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity, meaning it's a radio frequency transmitted by both an "access point" (aka, a wireless router) and your wireless card (NDS, Nintendo Wii, Netbooks, and newer laptops all have Wi-Fi built in) allowing you, the user, to access the internet and exchange information between machines. If your router doesn't have a light labeled "wireless" or "Wi-Fi" it probably doesn't have Wi-Fi built in, but anyone at your local radio shack, wall-mart or best-buy can help you out in finding a router that's right for you and your needs.
