Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

    Body Mass Index is calculated by taking your weight in pounds x 703, then dividing them by your height in inches2 .

    Example    220 x 703 = 154660

    154600 / (732 ) or 5329 = 29.011

    Compare this number to below;

    BMI                    Weight Status
    Below 18.5          Underweight
    18.5 - 24.9          Normal
    25.0 - 29.9          Overweight
    30 and Above      Obese

      Metric Units:  BMI = Weight (kg) / (Height (m) x Height (m))
      English Units:  BMI = Weight (lb) / (Height (in) x Height (in)) x 703
