The dos and donts of a martial arts practitioner are:
DO:
Use your skills to defend yourself against attack
Train frequently and enjoy it
Use your abilities for good purpose and encourage others to learn self defence techniques that might be useful to them some day.
Keep going, the legendary blackbelt is a difficult achievement to get to, but it is well worth it when you get there.
Make sure that you have insurance and a martial arts license
Set a good example to younger students of the martial arts
DON'T:
Stand around waiting for applause, after you've defended yourself in the street, running is still the best form of not getting hurt!
Become complacent, there is always someone better than you, somewhere.
Use your skills to hurt weaker people
Overtrain, your body will break down and you won't be able to train at all
Show off with your skills
