I would have to say no, in my opinion.
Just like anything else, abuse is never good. Too much of anything can be harmful.
That being said, many of our teens are learning HTML and Javascript as a result of the desire to customize their social networking pages.
The issue may be with some teachers not knowing how to use the Internet as a learning tool...no more Encyclopedias, just Wikipedias...
Information is easier to find. I just hope teachers help students to recognize reliable sources.
