What Does The Ratio Of The Length Between The Ring And Index Finger Say About A Person?
Answers
Quite a few strange things, really.
In most cases, a man's fourth finger (ring finger) is shorter than his index finger. The converse is true for most women: their ring fingers are longer than their index fingers. The ratios betwen these fingers are pretty set for most humans.
But in some individuals these expectations are reversed: women with longer index fingers and men with longer ring fingers.
In such cases, the men are more likely to be non-heterosexual, are more fertile, have higher than average musical and sporting ability, and tend to be more assertive or even aggressive than average.
Women with index fingers longer than their ring fingers may be more fertile and have a higher risk of breast cancer than average.
It's thought that these differences come about because of above average exposure very early in the womb to either estrogen or testosterone.
Interestingly, men with very long index fingers may be more likely to get heart disease, and women with very long ring fingers are more likely to be non-heterosexual.
