    In an impressive, but ultimately relatively short career, Brian Clough scored an incredible two hundred and sixty seven goals in only two hundred and ninety six appearances.  

    Clough scored just under one a game in the league, notching two hundred and fifty one league goals in only two hundred and seventy four appearances, with most of his goals coming for Middlesbrough.  

    He scored five goals in one match on one occasion, against Brighton in 1958, and he managed to score four goals in a game five times; he managed a very impressive eighteen career hat tricks, with eleven of his three goal hauls coming again for Middlesbrough; the other seven coming for their North East rivals Sunderland.

    Clough also managed to score at just under one every other game in the FA Cup, where he scored five goals in twelve appearances, he also managed to score eleven goals in only ten league cup games.
