LCD screens should be dealt with great care because there is a film over the screen that might be scratched due to certain solvents. So, the use of ammonia or alcohol should be avoided. Visit the following links for different kinds of products helpful in cleaning your Mac book.

Being a technical support agent for Apple, I get this question alot.
When cleaning the outside of your MacBook shut it down, unplug the power adapter, and take out the battery. Use a damp, soft, cloth to clean the computer’s exterior. Don't spray anything directly on the computer.
Use the cleaning cloth that came with the computer to wipe the screen. Dampen the cloth with water if necessary. Do not spray anything directly on the screen.
