 The Howardian Hills is an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ that is located in North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a region of landscape which has significant value in England, Wales or Northern Ireland. This identity is given by the Countryside Agency on behalf of the United Kingdom government. Some of the other Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) are Arnside and Silverdale, Cornwall, East Hampshire, North Wessex Downs, South Hampshire Coast, Lincolnshire Wolds, Forest of Bowland, Chichester Harbour, North Devon Coast, to name a few.

The Howardian Hills derives its name from the noble Howard family, who during that time owned outsized areas of the hills and also the Castle Howard that is situated at the tassel of the hills.
