What To Feed A Orphaned Baby Squirrel?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Sorry you haven't received any answers for five days! I hope the orphaned squirrel is still with you. The best formula I know of is to use a kitten milk replacement (you can find it at WalMart and not support the pet store or pay their outrageous prices). You also need a nursing bottle or an eyedropper, but you do want to encourage the baby to suckle. Add plain yogurt (one part yogurt to two parts formula) and also add karo syrup, molasses, or another syrup to the formula (about 1 Tbsp.). This should keep the baby hydrated, its sugars up, and give it energy to grow. The yogurt helps a great deal with digestion and helps avoid diarrhea. I use this on all kinds of infant critters and it has worked every time. Good luck to you! ~Pasha
