I Have Been W/ My Boyfriend For Two Years And We Have Talked About Our Future. How Can I Hint?
We are in love. We have talked about getting married and having kids. But I want to get engaged. This doesn't have to mean getting married right away, it could be a couple years later. I am 21 and I am at the point of getting my life started by my mid 20's. I'm not naive when it comes to relationships and I know what I want.I don't need a fancy ring,just a simple ring to show me he's serious. I don't want to push him.What is the best way to hint at it?

Why do you feel you need the ring to show that he is serious? You still are very young and you may decide that you don't want to get married right away. Marriage is no joke, it is serious. You are a woman, and we change a lot, you are lucky to be in your twenties, enjoy your freedom or just being with him for now, you will encounter a lot of different people as you go through life, and if you get married too soon, you may just realize that you wish you would have waited until you were a little mature and older. If I had it to do all over again I would not rush, and I would find out what makes me happy outside of another person.

Because I know I'm ready, I don't have to get married right away. I know he is the right guy. I have been through more things anyone could imagine in relationships. He is the best thing for me and vice versa. We have seen how we each react to money issues, work, school and other stresses. We know how to communicate without yelling and name calling. I know what I want and this is it. Like I said I don't have to get married right away a long engagement is fine with me, but I want to know hes serious enough to give me a ring. If not I don't want to waste my time. I'm ready to find someone who is serious. I'm ready to start my life.
