Hmm...clinical waste? There is so much waste in an animal hospital (worked in them seven years) that your question is a bit head scratching. Clinical waste? I don't know if you mean items other than the obvious, but so much of it is bio hazard material that clinical waste could also be considered office material also, couldn't it? Most surgical items are auto-claved (sterilized) and are rarely damaged as to be deemed waste. Even surgical needles are sterilized. Syringes are probably the most commonly tossed item. Needle less are thrown away, and then you have plastic faecal containers, cotton swabs on many kind, and very, very rarely does a vet office have so many vaccines that they expire. Usually, if they expire, they are sent back to the manufacturer. Bandage material, tape, plastic covers for syringes and catheters, IV bags and lines, gauze, slide covers, blotting papers for microscopic procedures, dental covers, messed up x-ray film, and the list goes on, and on, and on. Help any? Hope so.
Five examples of clinical waste in a veterinarians clinic are
used or damaged syringes, used or damaged surgical items, expired medications, expired vaccinations and euthinized animals.
