No, not every family has a gun although I have a lot of them. Does this make me evil or bad in your eyes?

No, not evil. And thanks for admitting it. Gun owners now have been made to feel like criminals even though we follow the rules -- the criminals don't have to!
Not every American Family owns a gun. Some families own more than one gun. Some States regulate gun ownership more than others as each State in the USA has different laws and regulations. If someone is a convicted felon, has been convicted of domestic violence and similar crimes they are banned from owning a gun anywhere in the USA and may not even hold or shoot a gun. Gun ownership is a civil right and as such people that have had their civil rights stripped by law are prohibited from gun ownership, however this does not mean they do not have a gun. People can have guns illegally but until the fact is discovered by police or other law enforcement agencies the weapons can be in their possession. Guns are stolen as such the were abouts of the weapons are in question.

Not all, but we do and I have a permit to carry as well. My parents don't have one in their home, but my mom use to carry one in her boot every where she went.

Not every family owns a gun but maybe every family should -- and be taught how to use it responsibly.

Every American family I know does. In fact several. We have six weapons. Most of our neighborhood high schoolers need to take out of the rack before going to school. Did I mention that my area has the absolute lowest crime rate in a couple of hundred square miles. Guess why.

I certainly hope not. I don't think that every body should be allowed to have a gun american or not. I think this should apply to every where. They are very dangerous especially if you have children in the house and if you have people in the house who are mentally ill. These are ones who don't need to be around guns. And suppose some one broke in to your home and the gun got in the wrong hands. That could be very disastrous.
