BBC Saturday morning TV started on 2 October 1976 with Multi Coloured Swap Shop, a brand new live show presented by Noel Edmonds, Keith Chegwin and John Craven. They were later joined by Maggie Philbin.
Swap Shop was replaced by Saturday Superstore on in 1982 hosted by Mike Read who was later joined by Sarah Greene.
Sarah Greene joined Phillip Schofield in September 1987 to launch Going Live along with Trev Neal And Simon Hickson (Trev and Simon) and of course Gordon the Gopher.
On 2 October 2003, Andi Peters and Emma Forbes launched Live and Kicking. They too were joined by Trev and Simon as well as other characters like the Leprechauns and Mr Blobby. Radio DJ and voiceover Mitch Johnson joined the team from series two. Zoe Ball and Jamie Theakeston took over in 1996 and Steve Wilson and Emma Ledden joined in 1999. To try and reverse falling ratings, Katie Hill, Trey Farley, Sarah Cawood and Ortis Deeley took over in September 2000.
A new show took over in September, fronted by first Dani Behr and Joe Mace and then Fearne Cotton and Simon grant. The Saturday Show returned after a break in 2004 and 2005 during the summer with Simon Grant, Jake Humphrys and Angelica Bell.
In 2003 however, the main slot was filled by Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow, a show already popular on the CBBC Channel.
Finally, in September 2006, the newest show took over. Sam Rhodes and Mark Nixon along with Caroline Flack launched TMi (Too Much Information).
