How Do You Tell If A Cat Is Pregnant?

My cat is getting 'belly full' and dropping and she isn't gaining any weight anywhere else. She is also becoming more loving and lounging more. Is she pregnant?

There is a possibility that she is pregnant because she is only gaining weight but to tell you the truth unless you wanna pay 50 bucks at the vets just find out that you were right all along and she is pregnant you don't really no until one night you call her for her food or to see what she is up to that's when you know that she is hiding somewhere giving birth or given birth

Belly full and dropping is an excellent description for a pregnant cat or dog. The loving nature is also a part of some cat's pregnancy. Check her teats for swelling and leakage. If she'll allow, place your hand or fingertips on her overfilled belly and feel for movement. You have to be patient and attentive as kitten movement is usually subtle can difficult to detect.

Cats carry approximately 63 days give or take 4 or 5 days on either side. If you suspect she's pregnant, especially if her nipples are tight, make her a bed in a dark, hidden closet or corner. You might watch to see if she prefers a certain place. If she's chosen her nest, it's difficult to change her mind. If she is pregnant, congratulations.

However, some medical conditions can imitate pregnancy. A vet check for confirmation of pregnancy and to ensure good overall health for your cat would be wise.
