Only for a second. As the hair is ripped out it does sting a bit. But it doesn't last. Once the waxing strip is off and the original "ouch", it doesn't hurt any more. (It is like when you pull off a bandaid where you have hair. Pull quick and it is done. Waxing is so much better than shaving. (You won't have the bumps. ) Be sure to put some lotion on the area after waxing.
