This happens due to the improper arrangement of earth. The hot gases inside were pressurised due to sudden changes of the earth layers and this leads to the eruption of lava which is nothing but hot melted rock. The common thing we observe in our life that when we put some force on a fully blown balloon on one side it explodes on the other side.
