First and foremost you need to outline yourself and come up with a very basic outline. Two important things that you have to take care of are the references must be fresh and they must be sources your aim market will value. The internet or the Reader's Guide to bulletin Literature at the records both pay for you right to use to hundreds of convincing journals and publications. He will ask you a number of questions all along the way and propel you some page layout ideas and layout ideas for the cover.

The printer will not produce your book from a word-processing out program like WordPerfect or Microsoft Word. Each and every book printer works with publishing programs like Quark Express and Aldus PageMaker. Next you need to check for the printing charges. The printer's final invoice is paid, after which he ships it back to you.

Although it is getting harder to get a literary agent to represent you, it is getting easier to get published as more and more people are turning their backs on the mainstream publishing companies and taking matters into their own hands. Where as once it was a long process to get a book published, now many people are turning to self-publishing companies to help them format their manuscript and turn it into a book. With the introduction of POD (print on demand), you can literally have one copy of your book printed if you want to.

Nowadays, mainstream publishing companies are looking for material that will sell quickly, which is why we have seen the mass production of celebrity autobiographies hit the stores. Long gone are the days when a publisher would choose a manuscript on the basis of quality. Publishers are like any other business ~ their aim is to make money from their authors. Because celebrities are already in the public eye, publishers know that they will already have a huge selling market, so many first time authors are being sidelined in favour of a guaranteed income from a celebrity's book.

All is not lost though. Many writers have successfully proved that they don't need a literary agent or a publisher to help them sell their book and have gone on to win film rights for the books that publishers turned down in favour of quick-money-spinners!

Getting a book published is a sort of tough job. For this you first need to determine what kind of a book you need to publish. Accordingly you prepare a basic outline. You can now use the information as a guide for your subject. Collect the relevant articles, information regarding the same. Then you collect the market opinion. Thereafter your editor has to compile the outline sketch. Then draw the relevant information. Draft your book after that. Make it a rough draft. Pass it to your editor to make the relevant corrections. Then you approve the final draft and the pattern. The final copy is passed on to the printer and the print estimates are outlined. Thereafter you get the blue lines of your book through the editor. After paying the printer, he sends the final copy to you. Thereafter your book gets published.

Writing of a book begins with a novel idea. To make sure you are on the right track and your book does not get rejected outright, you need to send a manuscript of your work in the form of a summary or the first two chapters to a publishing house. You can get the name of the publishing house in your state through a directory or through online. Get associated with a literary group which has access to some good publishing house.

A reputed publishing house receives innumerable manuscripts every day. 90 percent of them are rejected due to various reasons-grammar and spelling mistakes, plagiarism, monotonous style of writing, lack of research, lack of plot(if it is a fiction) and other miscellaneous reasons. So make sure, you are not erring on the basics before submitting your manuscript to the publishing house.

Another great idea is to contact a literary agent. He or she may charge a commission but they are in touch with some of the best publishing house and will be able to notch a good deal for you. Contact a reputed literary agent who will be able to do justice to your hard labour and can work on a lot of things, from packaging your book to marketing it effectively.
