Composting is a process by which one converts organic waste in to a nutrient rich fertiliser the procedure can be carried out at home as well as on an industrial level.
It is easy to make compost. One can make a rich, healthy fertiliser by using grass mowing's, weeds, vegetable peelings and dead leaves.
In the natural process of decomposition, the waste products of animals and vegetables slowly rot down first, then many small micro- organisms are dead and then these wastes are returned to the soil.
The decomposition process is sped up by creating microbe friendly conditions; the favourable conditions required for the strong population of the micro- organisms are food, warmth and moisture. Hence a compost heap must have all these conditions to obtain manure which is generally known as humus.
We can put vegetables, banana skins, used tea bags in the compost heap. Tea bags are helpful to maintain the moisture and the wet tea bags create the perfect conditions for micro organisms.
