It could be an abscess caused by being in a catfight. I had a cat who use to get abscesses in his neck area and even in his eye area. You should have it checked out because he may need antibiotics.

An absess sounds likely, a vet and some antibiotics, maybe an incision to drain it, and kitty should be fine, but it also may be an inflamed lymph gland from another kind of infection - Still calls for a vet visit.
