Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Born in Sacramento, Thomas Kinkade  had always loved painting. Living in Placerville in California he learned the art of painting. Born to a Christian family he learned many virtues and values which there on started showing in his paintings.

He attended the art centre college of design where he met James Gurney.

It all began with a trip that he took with this friend where they produce an instructional sketch book. This hit the market worldwide and immediately became a best selling guide to sketching.

And this is when the road to fame began. From then on he experimented using the name Robert Girard as his paint brush name and went ahead in publishing his painting and selling then in galleries all around California.
