The county of Norfolk has plenty of challenging golf courses that will appeal to the serious golfer.
The Wensum Valley Golf Course and Country Club is located in 350 acres of the Wensum Valley. There are two courses available here and they are both playable in wet conditions thanks to the free-draining soil that was used during the courses construction. The Valley course is a par 72 challenge with undulating greens requiring skill off the tee. The par 72 Championship course is longer off the tees and the greens are considerably smaller with some great water hazards that require the golfer to be accurate when they tee off. The course offers players a driving green, putting green, and PGA Professionals are available for lessons.
Weston Park Golf Club is a wooded eighteen hole golf course located nine miles from Norwich, the county seat. The fairways were designed to enhance the natural beauty of the landscape and golfers here should not be surprised to have a roe deer race through the course at any time. The clubhouse was built in the Georgian style and has two bars, a lounge area, conservatory, and dining room.
Searles Golf and Country Park near Hunstanton is a nine hole par 34 with large greens and water hazards in the form of the Heacham River at the third and fourth hole. It is perfect for both beginners and advanced players alike and visitors are welcome to practice their driving in the ten bay driving range. A strict gold dress code must be followed and they offer group packages, lessons with PGA professionals, and other amenities, such as fishing lakes, bowls greens, astro putting for all ages, and a tennis court.
