Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A quartz clock is a timepiece that is known for its intricate craftsmanship and precision. Some of the best-known brands of quartz timepieces come from Switzerland. It uses an electronic oscillator and a quartz crystal to give the precise time. The electronic oscillator of a quartz clock, which is also made of crystal, creates signals with frequencies which are very precise. These signals are usually counted in terms of some form of digital logic. The numerical display of time is expressed in terms of the three units used to measure time, namely hours, minutes and seconds. The time on a quartz clock is very precise, accurate and easy for a human being to read. A quartz clock has a resonator which is shaped like a tuning fork. The resonator is laser-trimmed or precision-lapped to vibrate at a frequency of 32, 768 Hertz.
