Why Do The Leaves Of Some Plants Change Colours In Different Seasons?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

All deciduous trees' leaves are a reddish color all year, however the chlorophyll which metabolizes sunlight into energy is a green color and disguises the red hues of the plant's cell structure. When the average temperature begins to drop the chlorophyll dies because it can no longer do its job in cool temp.s and that reveals the true colors of the leaves.
