It is natural for a cat to dig before using the bathroom. So just pick the cat up and put it inside the cat litter box consistently until the kitten gets the hang of it. It should not take no more than a day. The kitten will know that is the only spot in the house that has sand that he can dig in before using the bathroom.

Patients you need to litter box train them like you would potty train your children. Put them in the litter box about every 30 minutes and they will pick it up in no time.
