Check to see if it's in the right setting. Sometimes, the button can be on exhaust which makes the AC work like a fan. If that doesn't help, you need to bring it to a repair store, perhaps they need to replenish the coolant.

If this is a window unit, clean your filter. With the filter out, check to see if the evaporator coil is dirty.if so clean it. If the inside is OK, look outside. Is the condenser coil dirty from pollen etc.. Is there anything like leaves ,plastic wrap or anything covering the cond. Coil. If that's OK then you may have a leak. Cheaper to buy a new window unit. Also, check to see if you have the door open to the outside if you were to have it in fan mode.

if this is a unit that has an A- COIL on the furnace and outdoor condenser check for pretty much the same thing. Check your filter. If it dirty, replace it. If the filter is missing and you don't know how long its bewen missing or has been sucked against the blower i suggest you call an hvac co. Because the A-COIL may be clogged with pet hair, dust etc. This cleaning is not for joe homeowner. Check outside to see if the condenser is dirty or clogged with leaves, garbage or the cover you put  on it for the winter that you forgot to take off. Make sure your return ducts aren't covered by rugs, furniture and are open. Make sure your supply ducts are open and unobstructed. Look for oil spots on the a/c lines from the a-coil to the condenser. This may indicate a small leak and this will need repair and a charge. Set your t-stat for 72 in the cool and auto mode. Putting the t-stat in the on position will cause the blower to run recirculating the air in the hours only. Try those things a see what you find.

When the temp is high my  a.c starts tripping after some time . For eg. Room temp when we starts the ac is 37 it goes down till 28 or 27 and trip & again starts when the temp reaches 34 or 35 this problem occurs when the temp outside is high & in nights it functions properly as the temp as compare to day is low
