What Is The Chinese Traditional Religion?

The Chinese traditional religion is a mixture of religious practices, which extend backwards for thousands of years. Buddhism, Chinese folk religion, Taoism, Confucianism and ancestor worship are found as elements of the traditional religion.

There is no one book of doctrine or written documents of the belief system, as among many other religions. There are over 394 million followers of the Chinese traditional religion; about 800 million of those practice the Chinese folk religion, which includes worship or veneration of ancestors, Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism.

Worship of animals, the sun, moon, earth, the heavens and stars has been a tradition of this religion. Various devotions in celebration of legends, festivals, folk gods and goddesses has been part of the Chinese culture for centuries. Mythical figures,  "saints," immortals, and demigods
are part of the Chinese tradition.

Islam, Jewish, and Christian religions are present however, these traditions are not elements of this religion.
