Alternation of generation is to have varieties between two generations. In this type sexual generation alternates with asexual one. It is to produce two types of generations. Sexual generation came in to being by sexual interference while asexual comes up by asexual methods of reproduction. Both are important for proper growth of plants and animals. Alternation of generation can be observed in lower animals and all plants. This has a main significance that we may have varieties among generations.
There might be some of the features of a generation which would be missing in the other generation but the other generation will have some new and prominent things. This shows that how much it is important to elucidate the value of both of the generations. This has its role in diversity of plants and animal species. We may have diverse groups among genera by the help of it. A seed is a thing which decides about the sexual generation while asexual one can be done by other organs of plants.
