How do you tell the rooster from the hen when the chicks are babies?

The best way is to gently hold the chick in the palm of your hand and after that with the two fingers gently
spread one wing of the chick. Now, look that how the feathers are growing.

that is enlightening,as I was raised in and around farm life as my grandfather farmed,we as children just cared for the baby chickens never gave it a thought about what sex they were nor how to tell the difference,we just loved that they were babies,Thanks that was educational. Peace
