Editing your screen name would depend upon which screen name you are referring to. A screen name is typically a name or even string of characters that is chosen so as to uniquely identify a particular user. This is used within different online systems; these include platform video game servers, dial-up bulletin board systems and Internet-based environments.

The process of editing your screen name would depend on the particular service that you are using. The various online systems will have a help menu to guide you although some services do not allow users to change their screen name.

For instance, if using Yahoo Messenger, you would need to click on the Messenger menu option and then select the My Contact Details option. You can then enter a nickname of your choice and click on OK. This nickname will then show up whilst you use the Instant Messenger. It is also known as a screen name, sometimes shortened to simply s/n or SN.
