    Neil Alden Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon. He stepped foot on the surface of the moon on the 20th of July in the year 1969. The first words spoken by Armstrong were "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed."

    After stepping on the surface of the moon the first Armstrong's first words were, "that's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." These words have now been etched in the history of mankind.

    Neil Alden Armstrong was born on the 5th of August in Wapakoneta, Ohio in the United States. Before turning to a full time astronaut he was only a test pilot. He has spent a total of 8 days, 14 hours and 10 minutes. He was selected for the Gemini 8 and Apollo 11 missions.
